Hiking in the sun

What a day. It started of chilly at just bellow freezing at our house this morning but was well worth it when we got to the top of a beautifully clear Rattlesnake ledge.

Adventures in Kirklandia

Today we went for breakfast in Kirklandia to a place called Hectors. The food wasn't bad although the experience was somewhat bizaar. We arrived and we had a very snooty, very gay, very young Maître d'who was quite unpleasant to deal with. The food was adequate even though the coffee was undrinkable. As a result I wouldn't recommend it and to be honest am probably not going to go back again. Advice to Hectors don't treat your customers like sh!t, they don't come back if you do.

Hector's in Kirkland

Interestingly Kirkland seemed dead today. Most of the restaurants were fairly empty and hardly anyone was on the street. I wonder if this might be signs of the economic slowdown starting to hit home. We went for a bit of a walk and found some great coffee mugs. I also saw the most amazing cookies today (yes I have a sweet tooth :) )

We also went past Chris and Shelley's old place which was a bit depressing as we had some good memories there.

The angels visited us today

Our prayers were heard! CJ and Pauline dropped by with some coffee! Life can continue and balance has been returned to universe once again! I believe the appropriate expression for this would be "We are blessed..."

Chefs at work

I can honestly say this was the most divine Beef Wellington I have had! The meat was perfectly cooked and ever so tender, the pastry crisp and delicious and the mushroom and cognac sauce was to die for!

As you can see our host and hostess were hard at work ensuring the perfection!

New Years 2009 Dinner

Last night we had New Years dinner at CJ and Pauline’s. The food was magnificent as always and I can say without a shadow of doubt that the “usual suspects” (you know who you are) lost out big time on this one!

What better way to start these posts of with then to show you the menu!
