Spambots crawling the web

I have always wondered how long it takes spam bots to find personal information on the web. To get some more tangible information on this I decided to create a few disposable email addresses to see how long it would take to start receiving spam.

So here are a few different ways of putting the information up

Plain old address in plain text: GobbleMeUp-Plain.5.anonms@wronghead.com
Address with an html tag: Mickey W. A. Mouse

Well let's see which get's hit first. Ill post an update when I start seeing some spam head my way...

Microsoft XBOX is cooler than Nintendo Wii

Apparently Microsoft Xbox 360 is actually cooler than the Nintendo Wii after all.


Friday, January 9th 2009 09h39. Carnation, 32100 block of E Commercial Street. Xbox Gone.

A resident called police after discovering that an Xbox 360 game console, a game, and a controller were taken from the home during the night. Two people were sleeping in the room the console was stolen from; there was also a Wii game console in the room, which was not taken. Another strange development was the appearance of a BMX bicycle in the front yard of the home.

I drink to much...

Ok, this is from this afternoon. In the interests of full disclosure I had two other milks that I have tossed as well as one liter of regular water.

This is so embarrassing. Looking at this whiteboard would you believe that the person who did this once won an award for the neatest handwriting at primary school? Needless to say I don't know what happened. Still the writing is on the wall (pun intended) and I need to neaten up my act ;-)

Photoshop disasters

This is one of the more useful web sites I have discovered of late. Its humorous and very instructional seeing some of the horrors that have been inflicted using Photoshop.

For example if you look at this post you can see that the perspective of the skyline in the bachground is a little off.

Be warned a lot of the examples shown are not safe for work.

Paintball preperations

Griselda and I are playing our first Paintball game next week. Today we went and purchased our camouflage for it. As you can see we have gone "super tactical" on it! :-)

New Office

Yay I got a new office! Well the view is kinda nice so I figured I would try have my desk against the windo to take advantage of it. Looks like I still need to do some moving around to get things the way I want, but this gives an idea of what it looks like
