Stevens pass today

I love epic blue-bird powder days. Especialy when we get to discover a new bowl.

Snowboarding with Chris & Shelly

Whilst we were riding on Saturday I managed to break one of my snowboard bindings. This was pretty scary to say the least as I was going down a fairly steep hill at the time. Needless to say I slid a fair way face first. Luckily for me Stevens Pass has people on snow mobiles patrolling and I managed to hitch a lift back to the lodge. If I had to walk this it would have taken me a long time as the snow was deep. Needless to say the experience would not have been pleasant.

On the way home I called Burton rider services and fortunately my binding has a lifetime warranty on the base plate. Unfortunately Burton is in the process of an audit and won’t be able to ship anything until after the 11th of February. Fortunately Snowboard Connection (the local Burton agents) where able to give me a loaner (albeit crappy) set of bindings in the meantime. Hopefully Burton get the replacements out soon!

Unfortunately Griselda had the dubious distinction of racking up the first injury of the season. The good news is that she is ok although snowboarding might be off the list of activities in the near term.

As you can see from the following pictures the situation is not looking as good as it could be. Needless to say I am glad we did not buy a Seasons Pass at Snoqualmie this year.

I just had a look at the Stevens Pass webcam and you can see it all lit up by something in the background. Needless to say I though the picture was awesome.

Now if we can just continue to get more snow!
